Mitchell Raab Joins Olshan
NEW YORK, January 28, 2013 - Olshan announced today that seasoned investment and corporate lawyer Mitchell Raab will be joining the firm from investment fund Seneca Capital, as a partner in the Corporate practice group.

Frome. “Mitch’s debt and equity transactional experience involving early stage, later stage and distressed companies, his work with companies on a broad range of legal matters, as well as his investment management and capital raising experience perfectly complement our nationally renowned practices in these areas. With invaluable experience gained as part of the investment team at Seneca Capital, Mitch brings his analytical and deal-making talents, his strong commercial sensibility and sophisticated level of legal practice to our clients who will benefit tremendously from his broad expertise and market knowledge,” Mr. Frome concluded.
Mr. Raab has nearly 15 years’ investment and corporate law experience. His transactional experience includes evaluating, structuring, negotiating and executing debt, equity and mezzanine financings, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, divestitures, and restructurings involving public and private entities. He has also worked with and advised companies on a broad range of corporate and operational matters, including commercial transactions, governance and disclosure. His investment management focused experience has included analyses and idea development work for investors as to complex debt, convertible, preferred, and other instruments; risk arbitrage opportunities; restructurings; litigation, regulatory, legislative, and policy overhangs; and other legal-driven value opportunities and risks. Mr. Raab has expertise in constructive, value accretive engagement between companies and their shareholders. He also has experience developing and executing proxy campaigns and related settlement efforts. Mr. Raab has worked across geographies and industries and has particular expertise working in the energy, power and infrastructure, financial services, and healthcare industries. Mr. Raab serves on the Energy Committee of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York.

Prior to working at Seneca Capital, Mr. Raab was an attorney at Cleary, Gottlieb, Steen and Hamilton, and Richards, Spears, Kibbe and Orbe and was a law clerk for the Honorable Naomi Reice Buchwald in the Southern District of New York. He is a graduate cum laude from New York University School of Law and received a B.A., cum laude, from Yale University.
