Silverman Quoted in The Deal Regarding Uninvested Capital Raised by PE Firms
Olshan Corporate/Securities Law partner Kenneth Silverman was quoted in The Deal (subscription required) article titled “Financial sponsors awash in capital have no place to go .” The article explains that most research on alternative asset managers reports that private equity firms have a total of $1.3 trillion in "dry powder," or uninvested capital, as there are not enough PE deals to absorb even a small portion of it, and whether the amount of “dry powder” is the true amount. Silverman states "To a large extent, I take these figures at face value. You have so many large institutional investors that have to capture their own returns, and they're not getting their returns out of conventional investments," such as the public equities or credit markets.
