Olshan Mourns Friend and Colleague Mark J. Sugarman

The attorneys and staff at the firm of Olshan Frome Wolosky express profound sorrow at the loss of our friend and colleague Mark Sugarman.  Mark was a multi-talented lawyer, who focused on real property matters. He was recognized by his peers and the New York real property community as the leading lawyer in the complex field of ground lease rent re-evaluations. Mark brought to all matters a sharp sense of humor and a New Yorker’s eye for the weakness in his adversary’s case.  Clients rushed to retain him to make sure their opponent did not get him first. Mark did not limit his talents to litigation. For a number of
years, he served as a guest lecturer at the New York University School of Journalism on First Amendment issues and freedom of the press. He was a member of the New York State Bar Association and the American Bar Association, and a former Secretary of the Committee on Second Circuit Courts of the Federal Bar Council. Mark received his J.D. from Rutgers University with honors. We express our deepest sympathies to his wife Margery and the other members of his family.  Please see our obituary.
