Andrew Freedman Quoted in ValueWalk on the Upcoming Proxy Season
Olshan Partner and Co-Chair of the firm’s Shareholder Activism Group Andrew Freedman was recently quoted in ValueWalk regarding the upcoming proxy season, what shareholder activists should expect and how they can prepare. Mr. Freedman initially made an observation on a high number of recent 13D filings which is a warning of future vulnerabilities. He also spoke on management teams and their refusal to sell the company and asked, “What if performance never ticks back up?” and continued, “Activists are there to draw a line in the sand – six months later, if nothing's changed, it's a big problem for the C-Suite and board." In conclusion Mr. Freedman believes that these actions among others are signs of a busy and eventful proxy season, “Some fights, a good bit of M&A, seed planting by activists for the upcoming proxy season – all of this makes for a whirlwind of activity.”
