Jeremy King Speaks on ALA's Legal Management Talk Podcast on the Importance of Cyber Insurance

Chair of Olshan’s Insurance Coverage Practice Jeremy King appeared on an episode of ALA's Legal Management Talk podcast to discuss the importance of cyber insurance as a tool for businesses to protect themselves in the event of a cyberattack. “Cyber loss and cybercrime is way up. Law firms are increasingly becoming targets of this type of attack,” Jeremy explained. “As a practicing courtroom lawyer, I deal often with the claims side [and am asked] ‘what kinds of coverages do we need?’” Jeremy advises that companies may be vulnerable to malicious phishing attacks, server attacks and even attacks on employees who work from home. He also notes that cyber extortion is a very real risk to employers. “You think of this thing that you have to buy… that you hope to never actually use,” he said. “But especially for an administrator of a company, insurance is really about risk mitigation and loss allocation.”
