Olshan Partner Andrew Lustigman spoke on a panel entitled, “Copyrights, Trademarks and Fair Use of Social Media Content: What’s Fair Game and What’s Off Limits for Communications Practitioners?” at the American Association of Law Schools’ (“AALS”) annual meeting held in New York City January 6 - 10, 2016. This year’s meeting, the 110th Annual Meeting of the Association, was packed with programs appealing to law school deans, faculty, and administrators and featured over 200 sessions and 800 moderators, speakers and discussion leaders. Mr. Lustigman addressed law schools communications and marketing professionals consisting of directors and non-academic assistant deans and his main focus was on fair use and copyright law along with best practices when dealing with social media content for communications and marketing efforts. Michael R. Bloomberg, Former Mayor of New York City, Senator Charles E. Schumer, U.S. Senator for New York and The Honorable Justice Stephen Breyer, the Supreme Court of the United States were among some of the speakers.
